My older brother with me in the middle at 6 months old with our Dad in 1958.
I must apologise for my lack of recent posts as this week has been a sad and traumatic one for our family. My Father aged 82 passed away in hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning after finally succumbing to the dreadful ravages of Alzheimers disease and this post is a tribute to his life.
Dad was a lovely caring Father and throughout our time with him offered constant support and love for my Mum and us three adopted sons.
My father joined the Royal Engineers in the British Army as an 18-year-old boy. During his service he rose through the ranks and was eventually offered a commission and retired at the age of 55 as a Major M.B.E. During his service he had many postings, India, Egypt, Malaya, Kenya, Northern Ireland and Nepal being just a few of them.

One thing that Alzheimer’s can’t destroy is the love my father had for us, and the love we will always have for him. He is at peace now and God Bless his soul.
